Where in the Word is God hiding?

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: But the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Proverbs 25:2 KJV

An image of a magnifying glass hovering over the word: “hidden” in a sentence that reads: “Searching out hidden matters”.

The God of Israel works mysteriously. He hides things and allows the diligent to seek them out until they find them. He goes so far as to hide Himself, as the Prophet Isaiah says of Him:

Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. ‭

Isaiah 45:15 KJV‬

But at the same time, through the Prophet Jeremiah, God says of Himself:

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13 KJV

And the Apostle Paul, testifying about Him, says:

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV‬

This means that although the God of Israel has hidden Himself according to His own will, everyone who believes in Him, and searches for Him diligently with all their heart, will find Him where He is hidden because He desires to be sought out and found by everyone who loves Him.

In line with this sentiment, the Apostle John says:

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1 John 2:5 KJV

He explains that the love of God is perfected in everyone who keeps God’s Word and that those who keep His Word may be confident that they are in Him.

God is hidden in His Word

In other words, those who keep the Word of God seek God according to His word in Jeremiah 29:13, and will find Him and be united with Him in His Word. Christ Himself confirms this when He says:

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

‭John 17:17–23 KJV‬

Being God’s Word according to ‭John 1:1–14, Christ prayed that His Father would sanctify all of His disciples in Him, so that they may be united with the Father in the Word. Because of this prayer, the Word of God unites us with the Father, the God of Israel, because He and the Word are one and the Word is His hiding place wherein He may be found by those who search for Him whole-heartedly.

CONCLUSION

The God of Israel hides in His Word, but my question is: “Where in His Word is He hiding?” Join me as I search through the Holy Scripture to find the hidden matters of all that pertains to the Kingdom of God.

I pray that as you read through my future articles, the Word of God will draw you closer to the Father so that, in the end, we may all be united together as one in the Kingdom of Heaven. May the LORD God of Israel bless you always! Amen.
